TSURUHIME -THE VALKYRIE-

Character and Environment Design

Tsuruhime, a Japanese Valkyrie I redesign for maquette class. Tsuruhime is a Sengoku Period samurai heroine who leads her family soldier to protect their land from the outsider. She won the battle at the end but lost all her family, friend, and loved one. In the end, out of loneliness, she committed suicide. 
After Tsuruhime suicide, she was transformed into a Valkyrie and wandered around in different battles. Her armor and clothes will remain new at the beginning of the battle. Until the white haori cloak is soaked with blood, the battle will not end...

This is a two-part project:

1. Character design of Tsuruhime and transform into a monster clay sculpture. Tsuruhime is themed the two motif: Crane and white snake. crane meaning her long eternal life as a Valkyrie and white snake as the God messenger to decide the soldiers live. 

2. A Japanese shrine design for mourning base on Tsuruhime in the same color theme and motif.
